Nikki spent several years accidentally generating a personalized system for digging out from under a chronically messy home. She did this for herself and her family after decades of struggling with organization, consistency, generalized anxiety disorder and “not being good enough” at pretty much anything that required a healthy habit. Being more accurately diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 helped her realize and accept that nothing that was already out there was going to do the trick for more than a few days.
Over time, she created something that could evolve and change along with her and her family’s needs without the tedious or repetitive task lists and calendars. It helped to generate an environment of peace and comfort and is not only simple to maintain, but prevents overwhelm even around holidays or trying times. She started sharing her methods with friends, family and her coaching clients (for an entirely different area!) and realized she had, in the end, ultimately written a book about how anyone can create their own system appropriate to their individual needs and abilities by removing the overwhelm and slowly, but daily, gaining ground. Nikki lives with her husband, her teenage sons (when they remember!) and two unruly, well loved dogs in Buckeye, Arizona in their imperfect, but dramatically improved and sustainably tidy home.
